Women Discovering Aged Care Careers

The contribution women can make to the sector in providing quality aged care to older Australians is invaluable.

ACCPA is supporting women to gain a greater understanding of career pathways and opportunities for employment within the aged care sector.

We are connecting women across Tasmania and encouraging them to explore the diverse range of careers on offer in aged care.

Through the program, ACCPA will provide the information and resources for women to have an awareness and understanding of the skills employers are looking for.

Our work will assist women from all backgrounds and in all stages of life to build their confidence, connections and work capability.

Career Discovery & Practical Experience Sessions

Providing opportunities for women to learn about the employment opportunities, the diversity of job roles and career pathways, plus hear from staff that work in the sector.

Participants will also gain practical ‘hands-on’ experience to increase their understanding of the skills and aptitude that employers are looking for.

Industry Awareness Program

For career advisors, teachers and disability and employment service provides to gain a better understanding of the sector so they can identify and refer their clients, jobseekers and students to the aged care sector.

Aged Care Workforce Innovation Network

For all sector stakeholders to collaborate while providing up-to-date industry information regarding ‘right fit’ suitability, regional job opportunities and pathways for women.

Funded by the Department of Education, Skills and Employment, this project is a part of The Australian Government’s National Careers Institute  to ensure Australians have access to reliable and accurate careers information, resources, and support.
