Women Discovering Aged Care Careers Project

Please note the Women Discovering Aged Care Careers program ended on the 8th of May, 2023.

For further information on careers in aged care go here.

This project will include a series of information sessions and hands on workshops to find out what a day in the life of an aged care worker is and increase participants understanding of the skills sought by employers.

Find out about the real career options and pathways available to women,  how women with ‘right-fit’ characteristics and attributes can have a career that offers a diverse choice of meaningful and rewarding employment opportunities.

Career Discovery Days

Providing opportunities for women (aged between 16 and 64 years) to learn about the employment opportunities, the diversity of job roles and career pathways, hear from staff that work in the sector.  If possible (and covid-19 practices allow) we hope to also arrange site tours and participate in activities.

These interactive sessions will enable women to learn

  • about the aged care industry as a whole
  • the different parts of the aged care sector and career opportunities
  • the diversity of job roles and career pathways

Women who are employed in the sector will provide realistic insights into their chosen pathway, daily tasks and responsibilities, and learning journey.
