The Aged Care Services Sector provides a diverse range of services to older Australians and their families including:

Residential Care

Residential Care is for the older person who can no longer live in their own home. They live in a specialised facility with access to health care and help with everyday tasks

Home Care

Home Care programs provide services that support the older person to live at home and be more independent in the community.

Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)

CHSP is a government program that supports older people who are still managing well at home, but want some extra assistance, such as home help, delivered meals, personal care or home maintenance.

Independent and Retirement Living

Independent and Retirement Living offer accommodation, in a village environment, for older people who are actively independent and able to care for themselves. Activities and socialization opportunities are often provided.

Day Centres

Day Centres focus on improving physical and emotional wellbeing and encouraging independence. They offer structured group activities like art therapy or gardening, in a centre-based setting, to encourage social interaction. Other services can include excursions, meals services and access to Allied Health.

Respite

For older Australians that need support, either planned or unplanned, respite care can offer carers a break for a short period of time.
