About the Program
The ‘Aged Care is the Place to Be’ Project is a strategic response to address workforce challenges within the aged care sector.
This project introduces a co-designed employment pathway, in collaboration with aged and community care providers, targeting currently underrepresented cohorts in the QLD aged care workforce, specifically individuals aged 15-24 years and those identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
ACCPA will co-design and deliver a suite of learning and development training products to prepare and upskill new entrant aged care workers in service provider environments.
By registering for the program, your organisation will have free access to candidates in Queensland as well as a range of training options to enhance the skills of your aged care workforce and ensure better support for new workers in the sector.
The ‘Aged Care is the Place to Be’ Project will assist providers in eligible locations* to:
- attract young individuals to entry-level positions such as Domestic Assistant Support and Kitchen Assistants, Home Care Support. (Meal prep, social support, respite etc)
- offer a micro-credential foundational skills course to enhance the capabilities of new entrants.
- support individuals registered on the Aged Care Is the Place to Be Employment Hub in delivering quality aged care services.
- enhance the skills of the aged care service providers to ensure better support for new workers in the sector by accessing the industry specific foundational skills micro credential course.
