Queensland’s aged care sector depends on a skilled, supported and diverse nursing workforce. The Migrant Immersion Program helps to bridge the gap – empowering migrant aged care and health care workers and those seeking employment. Ultimately, ensuring that older Australians benefit from high-quality, culturally competent care.
By providing targeted and culturally aware eLearning, the Migrant Immersion Program helps participants to rapidly understand Australia’s aged care environment.

Through practical, accessible eLearning modules, the Migrant Immersion Program enables migrant learners to:
- build confidence in navigating Australian legislative and governance standards
- learn anytime, anywhere with bite-sized, micro-credentials designed for quick, impactful learning on the go
- adapt quickly to new clinical and cultural work environments
- deliver high-quality care to Australia’s ageing population
- feel supported and connected in the workplace.
This free eLearning program is available to:
- Migrant aged care and health care workers living in Queensland
- Those who are employed in aged care or seeking work in the sector
Eligibility criteria
Participants must:
- be born overseas
- be living in Queensland
- aged 18 years and over and not a school student
